Hi,
I am looking for a profile evaluation and some European B-schools I can target for the Fall of 2022 with my given score and profile -
GMAT : 640 (just didn't work out)
Work ex : About 12 months now, (18 months by the time I want to apply for the MiM) at a reputed consulting firm
Undergrad : Bachelors in Engineering/Female/Indian - IT (yes, very over-represented) GPA-8.85/10.
Resume highlights:
National level hackathon win
Head of a literature club
Published an article
Also started a small podcast.
A few volunteer activities etc.
What are some good colleges I can look towards aiming?
I also would like to apply to one super-ambitious B-school (and I totally understand I wouldn't get through) and the 3 that I am debating between are - LBS, INSEAD and WHU Otto Beishm. Where do you think the chances are slightly better than nothing?

Hey anisha98,
Your GPA is good and your extracurriculars are also impressive, this will definitely be an advantage in your application. Although your resume is not the only parameter of your admission.
Your GMAT scores hold 25% weightage and right now your scores are low.
You will need to score at least 700 to be an eligible candidate but I would recommend you to aim for 740+.
There is still time for you to apply for Fall intake, I would recommend you to follow the following:
1) Practice for your GMAT through mock tests and classes and improve your score
2) Give your GMAT exam in February and again in March if you didn’t get desired results and apply in March just before round 3 deadlines.
3) Alongside start preparing your SOPs, essay and resumes
If you want to study MiM in world’s best universities like LBS and WHU you need to follow these steps, although you can still apply to these universities with this GMAT score but to maximise your chances I would recommend you to follow these steps and increase your GMAT score.
But apply soon for INSEAD as its R3 deadline is on 26th January,2022. Apply by sending your current GMAT score and prepare for other university's applications.
Bath University, EDHEC and Durham universities should be on your safe school list.

Dear anisha98 , let me guide you on how you could improve your prospects for a "super ambitious" B school (INSEAD , LBS).
Evaluate the break up of your GMAT score. If you have done decently on Quant, that is, if you already have a Q49+, you can still compete with other applicants by demonstrating stellar achievements in other areas such as school academics, literary society, community work , professional stint, hackathon and so on. Take into consideration whether it would be easier for you to improve on Quant or Verbal, and plan a subsequent attempt to attain the target score in a timely manner. Do note that as an Indian applicant a sub-optimal quant score can diminish your admit chances more than a sub-optimal verbal score.
In your narrative focus on the aspects that differentiate you from the general IT pool (if that is your job area). For example, you could pitch yourself as a developer( show consistency with your passion for coding), or pitch yourself as a technical project leader focused on a certain industry (such as healthcare or banking or manufacturing or what is relevant in your case), who has worked on conflict resolutions with multiple stakeholders.
Show that you have grown from an individual contributor to a project leader at work, with additional responsibilities awarded by management due to your performance and conscientious decision making skills.
Create such a strong narrative that it makes it difficult for the school to disregard your candidature
