Hi Neha can you please explain this part However, you still would require a full-time job offer before applying to a deferred program.?

MBAandBeyond
Hi Kabirk,

Thanks for your post!

First, I would like you to understand that you have an approach that is more career-oriented than focusing on salary. Coming to your profile, I would say you are a bit too young for an MBA program as most MBA programs require an appropriate amount of work experience. Now, since you are thinking of a deferred MBA, you need to understand that most definitely, you can secure a seat while you are still in the final year of your UG or graduate college. However, you still would require a full-time job offer before applying to a deferred program and have to work for two to five years when your college ends. For more information, you can refer to our blog Top Deferred MBA Programs for College Seniors. This would most certainly help clear any doubts and at the same time help understand all about top deferred programs!

However, you do have a relevant chance at top MiM programs with a 3.0 GPA; all you need to do is perform well in your GMAT and align your profile according to the specific school values. For more information on MiM programs, you can refer to our website's MiM section MBA vs. MiM: Is MiM a better option for undergraduate students? This would most certainly help clear any doubts and at the same time help understand all about top MiM programs!

You are still early in your career; you could use your time to get some experience to build a roust profile good enough for an MBA. Hence, If you'd like, we are happy to hop on a call with you sometime this week to discuss your profile in length and further chances to the schools. Feel free to book a free session with us at your convenience.

Cheers!

Hello,
I am a 21 year old student who has completed undergrad . I am in a dilemma wether to consider MIM or Deferred MBA. From job prospects which is better? Salary wise, career wise. Deferred MBA is hard to get into, i am afraid that i don’t have the required profile, for eg. any head positions in college or in any clubs, I haven’t started anything of my own either. But i did alot of online courses. I did social work, I did a full time internship with a well known company and that’s pretty much it. I was diagnosed with a learning disability and a mental illness , but unfortunately did not get a certificate due to Covid and after that I thought that i do not require that stamp on my head. My GPA is like 3.0. I know things are so complicated. I was preparing for entrance exam for masters in a completely different field just to realise its not meant for me. Also if we talk about the tution, which is 140k , it is expensive, but manageable. I’d be done with MBA and get a job by 24 and just one year less with MIM. My other friends got admitted to Deferred MBA IV league B-schools and i feel left out. I don’t know which one to choose. I am new to all this. Please help.

Hello, MBAprepcoach. I mean that if a deferred candidate already had a job offer from a good firm before submitting their application, their chances of acceptance to the school will increase.
