There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
I have been practising the verbal section for quite some time now and I've come across a situation that, I think, is hampering my progress. The problem is whenever I attempt verbal section when I am timed and scored, i'm unable to comprehend the lines even when I'm following the same strategy that I use while practising. For example, when I'm doing OG, I'm able to understand the question's essence and think of it holistically, but as soon as I switch to time-score mode, I start reading so much into the lines that I bamboozle myself with information and end up re-reading the passage, that leads to wastage of time and drop in confidence.
Please share if someone else faced the same mistake and what might be a potential solution to this.

This sounds like test anxiety to me. 'When I'm under pressure, I just can't make sense of what I read' is a very common issue to have, and it usually comes up because you get nervous and stressed out when you have to work quickly. I'd start by trying whatever normally works for you to reduce anxiety in your daily life: mindfulness, taking deep breaths, positive self-talk, etc.
It comes down to sticking to a strategy that you have prior to reading the passage. When you stick to the strategy, it builds your confidence and gets rid of moments of hesitation. What is that reading strategy of yours? If you don't have one, try this resource out: https://www.gmatpill.com/gmatpill-relea ... -guide-rc/
