Hjort - thanks for your reply!
I am in education now, and my goal is to first work in educational policy, or possibly for a for-profit educational company, and then eventually start my own non-profit focusing on ESL training for hispanic immigrants.
I have considered Ed policy programs and even public policy programs, but all seem far too academic and research oriented. Achieving my long-term goal will require the business background to make it happen (raising capital, managing growth, etc) and for that reason i have decided to focus on business school.
I graduated from a top public with a 3.3 and and relatively good grades in my undergrad business and math courses. I am very active in my current position, having started my school's ESL program and taking it to 100% proficiency more quickly than any other school in my state. I have also been elected to several internal committees as well as to several school board committees (while those outside of education may not see a lot of value in these accomplishments, they are impressive in my industry, especially for someone my age).
My primary problem is the GMAT - I have little time to study and am planning to apply through the Consortium (Early Dec deadline).
Given my low score (Verbal is fine, the problem is in Quant), my question is 'do i have a chance with the current low GMAT', or should i postpone my applications and retake the exam? That would most likely require me to miss the Consortium deadline, but i would rather postpone than apply with litlte chance of acceptance.
Thanks very much for any info!
