Hi everybody,
My Gmat exam was scheduled for today but I got a schoulder and arm injury yersterday at sport ( I know it's stupid to play sport the day before). When I woke up today my pain was still there, an heavy pain. I didn't want type my AWA with one hand ...too slow and I was afraid to be focus on my pain and not on the exam , so I decided to reschedul it. However I can't reschedul or cancel the exam the day of the exam.
Ok no worries it's my bad , I will pay another 250$ exam . The problem is that I can't wait 31 day to retake the exam, I would like retake it in 1 week. The gmat handbook claim that " If you miss your appointment, you may schedule a new exam without waiting a full 31 days, but you must schedule by phone and pay the full registration fee."
I called the candidate service and it told me that I could schedul an exam next week 24hour after I miss the exam...So tomorow.
But I 'm still anxious about the 31 days.
Someone did already meet this situation ? Someone knows if I must wait 31 days ?
PS: please don't answer just " you'r stupid", I know I already feel too bad about the situation. Can't go to the exam when you prepare for it since long time is the worst scenario!

It sounds like there are a couple of 'issues' here, so let's deal with them one at a time.
1) How long will it take for you to recover from these injuries? If you were in pain today, then it stands to reason that you'll be in pain tomorrow, so the 'problem' won't be fixed. If you want to schedule your exam for next week, then that might be sufficient time to recover, BUT if it's not and you still have this pain, then you're going to be 'out' another $250.
2) Since you technically have not taken the GMAT, the 31 day 'waiting period' shouldn't apply. Have you tried logging into MBA.com and scheduling another appointment?

First, I don't have the choice to retake the Gmat next week because the admission deadline is the 1st june . I hope the injury will be less painfull next week but it will be fine , I will be brave lol.
Second, yes I may reschedul an exam without wait 31 days. The Candidate Service told me by mail :
Thank you for contacting GMAC Candidate Services EMEA.
Please be advise that if you send a doctor's note and the note is accepted. the exam will
be rescheduled for free.
So, it's the good news.
I hope this bad experience could help someone. If you are in a similar situation the day of you exam don't stress, you may reschedul your exam for free without wait 31 days.
