Hi all,
I was looking at the MIT Leaders for Manufacturing (LFM) Program. As you may know, you get both an MBA from Sloan as well as a SM from the School of Engineering.
This program seems very attractive to me, especially given the generous funding given to students and the fact that you get two degrees as well as a guaranteed internship.
However, I haven't seen much discussion on the forum about the program, and was wondering why. What are your opinions about this program? What, if anything, have you heard about the industry recognition and value of this program? Is it worthwhile taking the hit in management/finance electives to take the engineering/manufacturing courses that the SM degree requires? Any help would be appreciated!

From what I know of it, LFM WILL guarantee you a job in manufacturing. Therefore, you really, really want to go into a manufacturing type role. If you are interesting in business and engineering, another thought would be to look at Kellogg's MMM program. It is a dual MBA/MEM (Master in Engineering Management) that is done in two years. The reason I chose this program over LFM is because I want to keep my options open. I don't necessarily want to get pigeon holed into an industry before I really know what it is I want to do. I also think Michigan has a similar type program. Worth checking out if you are still in the research faze.

To the previous poster or anyone who wants to help, do you have a list of these kind of programs? This is exactly what I am looking for , I work in supply chain management and I am really interested in LFM and related programs leading to manufacturing/operations jobs.
