Hey there,
Well, you have a pretty interesting profile and I must say that you have taken up a lot of self-initiatives.
You have done a great job with GRE, and the academics look good as well.
The research paper and work experience work as well, however, you would need to go deeper into the details.
So, as I said, you have a lot of things going on for you - However, we are talking about MIT which is notorious for being super-selective (While the school has not mentioned the official stats on acceptance rates, it is estimated to be around 10% for MFin programs)
Plus being a specialized masters program, it attracts applications from recent graduates as well as professionals with a more extensive work-ex and who have renowned brands on their resume, hence applicants even with stellar profiles tend to start at the level ground when it comes to a school like MIT.
I can see that you are super-serious about MIT Sloan, and while I think that you do stand a good shot at getting in, here are a couple of things you can look at to increase your chances:
-
What's your differentiator: You will be competing with people who have good grades, impressive work ex and who might have done pretty good papers themselves, so what differentiates you from the lot? You will need to brainstorm on this part a bit.
-
Can you showcase a holistic profile: You have not given a lot of details about your extra-curricular activities. Schools value a holistic profile, so try taking up some volunteering initiatives, join student clubs and make sure that you present some quantifiable impact through these activities.
I like your profile, so I am going to share one of my best resources that might help you work on the above points. I have a super-comprehensive brainstorming sheet -that will help you dig deep into your life events and profile to come up with strong and differentiating experiences to showcase in your application.
You can access it here:
https://www.mim-essay.com/brainstorming-sheet-downloadOver the years, I have mentored a lot of applicants get into top MFin programs like Oxford, Princeton, Vanderbilt and the like, and I use the same sheet that I have shared above in my initial brainstorming calls.
Let me know if the sheet helped and in case you have questions, feel free to drop me a personal message.
Good luck!
