Option (D) in my opinion.

Lamps cast light brighter and whiter than "light" that traditional ones project. Here, light is a singular subject thus "those" is wrong here. Also, since we are comparing "light" we need "some placeholde pronoun" such as "what". Otherwise an incorrect comparison would be made between light and traditional lamps.
Also, the action of new lamps projecting brighter and whiter light leads to creation of an illusion, the usage of comma + creating is correct to showcase result of a previous action.

Thus, D stands.

Option A: Incorrectly compares (brighter and whiter) light to traditional lamps.

Option B: Brighter and whiter light is a singular quantity, therefore usage of those (plural) is incorrect.

Option C: Same error as in A. Incorrect comparison between light and lamps.

Option D: Perfect!

Option E: Same error as in B. Incorrectly used plural pronoun (those) for singular noun (light).

Hence, option D is the answer.
