1. Farm equipments and animals, which farmers use to plow farms, are increasingly being used by colonists in the new America.
Does the word which after comma modifies the single noun "animals" (that comes just before it) or the compound noun "farm equipment and animals"?
2. Declining values of farm equipments and animals, which farmers use as collateral, are creating problems for colonists in the new America.
I think here which is modifying "declining values" which is a noun. Please confirm this.
I asked a similar question in a previous post but this one is a bit different.
Thanks

1. ;which is modifying compound noun( farm equipments and animals)...it is clear by the use of auxiliary verb 'are'.

Well if your opinion is based on the use of "are" then I think you should reconsider your answer since I structured this sentence and I am not much sure about it (the grammar).

2. Here again 'which' is modifying compound noun i.e. farm equipments and animals. do you think that farmers can use declining values as collateral?

imo, which in this one refers to "Farm equipments and animals" because they both are used to plow the farm.

in this one, which is not correct one because which refers to farm equipmants and animals and they are not creating the problem. the problems are created by declining values for farm equipments and animals.
