Explanation

Premise: More sports journals are sold in Hornby than in Milston.
Conclusion: Residents of Hornby are better informed about major sporting events than residents of Milston.

What to weaken: Show that higher sales in Hornby don’t mean Hornby residents are better informed.

A. If population is larger, more journals sold doesn’t mean higher per capita consumption. Could even be lower per capita, so Hornby residents could be less informed.

B. Then many journals sold in Hornby are bought by Milston residents, so sales in Hornby don’t reflect Hornby residents’ consumption.

C. This doesn’t directly affect the link between sales and being informed, cheaper journals could still mean people in Hornby buy more and read more, unless it implies something else like bulk buying or waste? Correct.

D. If it’s local events, not “major sporting events” (which are national/international), then extra sales in Hornby could be due to local coverage journals, not informative about major events, it weakens.

E. Directly weakens: less time reading means less informed likely.
