I would say B.

A - "that has been" is wrong..doesn't flow.

C - need the word "other." There may be more that one single factor

D - plural/singular error. i beleive that increases is plural. (correct me if i am wrong)

E - same as D

I will take B...

More than any other single factor, increases in the price of imported oil that has been responsible for the inflation experienced by the United States in the last few years.

A) More than any other single factor, increases in the price of imported oil that has been responsible for
- sentence fragment - no main verb
B) More than any other single factor, increases in the price of imported oil have been responsible for

C) More than any single factor, increases in the price of imported oil have been responsible for
- need 'other' to distinguish the increase with the factors.

D) Increases in the price of imported oil, more than any other single factor, is the cause of
- increases is plural, not singular...

E) Increases in the price of imported oil, more than any single factor, has been responsible for
- same problem as C... has been

I'm going with B here.

A has a bunch of mistakes. C lacks the "other" that is needed to distinguish the price increases from other factors. D and E have subject-verb disagreements ("increases"... "has").

The OA is B. Riteshgupta1 does a great job of explaining why all other ACs are incorrect.
