Got one from Berkley as well. Man that campus looks beautiful!

Anyways, this brings up an interesting question. Do you think it matters at all if you apply to a school where you got a viewbook? For example, I am debating between Tuck and Chicago for R2, I got a viewbook from Tuck, not one from Chicago.

It probably doesn't but I wonder if they at least match up applicants to their internal recruiting database.

I don't think it matters. In fact, I'd say that if you are already applying and you started an online application you are less likely to get anything from that school than ones you are not applying to. I keep on getting stuff from Darden all the time and I never even visited their website.

Doubt it.

Here's how it probably works:

"Hey dave we got a new database today."
"K, load it in."
"K it's loaded."
"Ok run mail-out-crap.exe"
"Ok I ran it"
"Cool. Lets go back to smoking a joint, after all this is the west coast"

Well depends... From some lower ranked schools I got alot more than viewbooks... Fee waivers, talks of full fellowships, etc.

I'd keep all this in perspective. I am 100% certain that all this is based on nothing more than GMAT scores.
I've gotten view books from like 30 schools, including Tuck, Haas, Fuqua, and Ross. Some schools like Notre Dame, Kelley, Owen, Simon have offered me app fee waivers and POSSIBLE scholoarship money. The thing is ALL my friends who score over 750 have gotten exactly the same materials.

I got a handwritten note from a student @ Kelley which really caught my eye. Not going to apply there, but still it was a nice touch.

Why do you think that the school sent you a viewbook?

How does the school know you are applying to Business Schools?

Is it the GMAT score?

yeah, i guess i'm being left out of the viewbook party.

i scored a 760 on my gmat back in september, and the only schools that have sent me a viewbook are Rice and Maryland- and that's only bc they were two of the five schools that i chose to have scores sent out to when i took the gmat.

lol i know...

the other schools were: Anderson (my#1 choice by far), Darden, and Stern

i sent the scores to Rice bc i hear that they have a solid finance program and i would consider going if they offerred a significant scholarship. and Maryland only bc i grew up in the area.

Just got a viewbook and a USB drive with presentations (!) from INSEAD. Also got stuff from Haas (I did select them for score submission though) and a gazillion of low-profile schools. GMAT is 760, took it in October.
