Their is singular pronoun. While the difference is to be distinguished between Two eclipse type - solar and lunar eclipse. Eliminate A and E
In D, ........yet, most people could not explain why the difference difference among whom? The statement is ambiguous and unclear. (Incorrect)
In B, ........yet, most people could not explain them differently to others. the difference to be told is between eclipse type not mentioning the type differently to others. Changing meaning (Incorrect)
C is correct.
