Hola, fellow B-school aspirants,
Life gurus have always told me that the journey is more important than the end. However, this particular journey of applying to B-schools is especially arduous!
In this case, I feel that the best case scenario is that the admissions committee hacks my computer and gets hold of whatever they want. They have to be the most altruistic people with a focused purpose of just looking for reasons for either admitting or not admitting me. That way, I won't mind them doing the hacking thing. Then, there's one Freddy Krueger on the admissions committee, and Freddy goes into the deepest of my dreams and conducts as many rounds of interviews as he wants. Now, the admissions committee has contact with one of the best call centers on the exotic islands of Fiji. These call centers excel in politely contacting all people that I would know, and get whatever recommendation or no recommendation that's needed, and sharing this data with the admissions committee. And that's that!
I understand that life is not ideal, but this is my ideal scenario!
However, that's not the case, and that's never going to be the case, so here I am!
Anyway, I am looking for a motivation buddy for my B-school applications, especially the toughest component for me - letters of recommendation.
I already took my GRE, and I am retaking the GRE again for score improvement. I am done with the TOEFL test.
I understand that writing application essays is tough, but I love writing essays. I have to put a timer when I start to write because otherwise, I end up working the entire night off writing that particular essay.
I also understand that GRE and TOEFL are also tough, and any score might not be sufficient for a particular program. However, I love studying for these tests.
I also like filling up the diverse set of questions in an application form.
I also like to optimize my resume/CV for each application.
The only thing that feels like a nightmarish situation to me is the letters of recommendation. I thought that may be I was an introvert, but I took several tests and read many books, and I am not an introvert. I am also not an extrovert. I am an ambivert!
I don't think that matters much because I know a few introverts who get letters of recommendation very easily and a few extroverts who might have some difficulties getting letters of recommendation.
Thus, I am reaching out here. I am looking for a buddy to make awesome applications, including everything I discussed above.
Also, I would love to have complementation, for instance, you are also feeling not so hot about the letters of recommendation. If that's the case, let's buddy up!
However, I would also love to have a contrast. For instance, you are really good at letters of recommendation, but you may not like something else in the application packet. In that case, also, let's buddy up!
I am not looking for a study buddy for GMAT or GRE. That's why I did not enter details into the spreadsheet floating around on this forum for a study buddy. That's an awesome concept, though.
I am looking for a motivation buddy for an application packet for B-School admissions, especially the parts that I outlined above. I will look forward to finding a few buddies for the purpose, and we can motivate each other here!
