Hello,
I am getting ready to appear for GMAT in a month and aiming for 2018 applications for the top 20 schools.
Here is a glimpse of my profile:
Age: 27
Nationality: Indian
WorkEx: 5+ years (3 years in international sales based out of India, and have been in the US from the last 2 years with a focus on North American sales)
Education Profile: 3 year under-grad and an MBA from a 2nd tier b-school in India (75% marks)
Extra Curricular: National Universities Fencing Champion 2009 & 2010, Soccer coach with YMCA Atlanta, Logistics Coordinator of 1st Atlanta Women's March and many more
Recommendations: My VP is ready to write one and I also have 4 of the top 15 schools' alumni ready to recommend me
I believe my profile is decent enough to write a good essay (considering it is international and US sales which is unique from most of my Indian peer group) and of course, I will defend my second MBA with an additional essay.
The question now is that I was approached by my CEO yesterday who wants me to move from sales to Investor Relations
. I will be walking shoulder to shoulder with the CEO of a $2bn fast growing technology enterprise and will be dealing with M&As and expansion strategies along with investor presentations. I am really not sure if this move will positively or negatively impact my application as its a totally new profile away from sales and I have no clue how the business schools will look at it. I am aspiring to work as a management consultant with an MBB or a top consulting firm, so any insight about future employment prospects with those firms will also be helpful.
Look forward to your advise.
Regards,
G
