Could be (E) actually. The student would benefit for at least the first ten minutes.

I thought about this one also, however the paragraph says that Mozart music enhance the performance of the student only on abstract problems... so difficult math problems would be incorrect i think....

Going with E here..

A: Argument does not indicate that warm-up exercise is effective for a long time even if it lasts no longer than 10 minutes

B: The first line of the argument says, "some forms of Western classical music" . So, not sure whether there is any characteristic that is NOT shared.

C: Not supported.

D: The Argument does not indicate that "Greater ability to tackle abstract problems" is the ONLY one measurable skill Can be an Assumption but not an Conclusion.

E: This one stays as it says "would benefit", which is supported by the temporary increase IQ.

Answer: D

A. No reference to what defines "long-term"

B. Never says anything about what the characteristics are of the music

C. Out of scope; Non-musical stimulus is not relevant

D. As abstract problems are mentioned and correlated with increased IQ this fits best. Answer.

E. Does a difficult math test define abstract problems? No... Cannot be the answer.

Straight E.

A - Out of scope.
B - Incorrect inference. The question stem says '...listening to some forms of Western classical music can result in a temporary increase in IQ.'
C - Out of scope.
D - There is no discussion of any other measurable skill that correlates with higher IQ. Out of scope.
E - $$$

Exactly. They write books not to teach you but to make you mad.

Amit, can you please post a screen shot of the OE for us. I think (C) might be correct by POE, but can't explain it within the context of the passage.

I go with D. D is the only answer that can be concluded. Since the music might increase IQ, such as a mathmatical question, we can assume that IQ and math have a correlation.

E is wrong, since you would spend 5 minutes waiting to get your test in class, and the effect would only last you through 1 or two problems. Unless you are a genius already, in which case who gives a rat's buttox about Mozart.

DDDDD
