Hello everyone,
NEED HELP! I am applying for a Masters program in accounting for the FALL 2019.
A little about myself:
I am from South East Asia.
I have an undergraduate degree in a field other than accounting.
2 years of work experience - 1 year at EY (Non-accounting role) and the other at a local firm as an accountant assistant (audit).
I took the GMAT exam and did poorly. However, i intend to go ahead with my application.
I have shortlisted three universities:
Drexel University - Lebow College of Business (2 year MS in Accounting)
UW - Milwaukee - Lubar School of Business (2 year MS in Accounting)
UW - Tacoma - Milgard School of Business (2 year MS in Accounting)
As you have noticed, my preference is for a 2 year program.
My question is which of these universities do you think is the best choice in terms of cost, teaching and job placements?
Or if there are any other schools that offer a 2 year program for Non-accounting majors, please let me know?

Based on your profile, the schools that you have shortlisted are reachable targets. Some of the strengths of your profile would be a decent work experience. However more details would be needed on the gmat and gpa. If you have a strong gpa, that would be enough to cover up for a low gmat. If that’s not the case you have to make sure that other components of the application are top notch right from the essays to the CV.
Out of the three colleges mentioned both Drexel University and UW - Milwaukee can be decent options. Both schools were ranked under top 100 Best Business Schools and are also among the elite 20 percent of business schools to be accredited by AACSB. Again the average base salaries for both the programs revolve around $75000 and would give you a decent start. However Drexel has a comparatively smaller class size and would give you better networking opportunities and employment prospects. Thus all in all Drexel University’s Lebow College of Business would be an ideal option.
