hi,
I have GRE score of 305(V148 Q157), I have a Bachelors in Commerce from India so 12+3.

Any Idea about my chances for getting into-

Vanderbilt Owen
USC Marshall
IIT - Chicago
Washington Olin
Texas Austin
Simon Rochester

These schools do take 12+3 so I am targeting them, however please let me know more schools you can think of for my profile.

Moreover, I am working as a Research Assistant with my college professor and also about to publish my own paper under his guidance. I have taken online courses with certificate from Coursera in Data Science, Financial Modeling etc. Having completed few capstone projects in such courses I worked with MATLAB, R and MySQL (basic).
Talking about work ex. I worked as Lead Tax Advisor at H&R Block India (US based firm) for 4 months after graduation, also worked as an Intern at a Chartered Accountant's firm in financial accounting and auditing for 4 months during my second year at college. And looking for a job in core finance role to gain experience till Fall 2017.

Last but not the least, I have cleared Grade 5 Guitar exam from Trinity College London and hold a certificate in Graphology (handwriting analysis), conducted almost 500 analyses.
I am in process of preparing a strong SOP but would require some insights and inputs while applying.

P.S - I am unwilling to complete M.Comm in India or take other degree to meet 12+4.

So correct me if I am wrong, but the GRE converts to around a 530 GMAT. If this is the case, then IIT - Chicago and Rochester are going to be your only reasonable shots. Even those schools will be tough with that score. I'd spend more time on your GRE and get it to a higher level. International students need much higher score for these US programs as international students are tougher to place.

Thank you sir! I will try to work on my GRE score. Also, I would like to know will my research publication help me improve my chances and could you please briefly explain as to what do colleges look for in prospective students apart from GRE/GPA. They talk about a 'holistic' approach, and I wouldn't assume it to be very open-ended. I really need to get enrolled for Fall 2017 batch because I am passionate about finance and the future course of my career depends on it. And couple of personal reasons. Any inputs would be valuable.
