Hello All,
I am thinking of applying for MS Finance in 2009. It would be great if people on this forum could offer view points and suggestions as to the good schools.
To start off, I am an international applicant so the ever present visa issue (of getting a work visa) is of key importance to me. I have a Math background and am also a CFA Level 2 candidate, having cleared the CFA Level 1 in Dec 2007.
I am interested in a one year program and something that is focussed on MS Finance. At this point I am not considering the dual MBA - MS or the M Engg - Financial Engg streams.
I am yet to give my GMAT.
I am thinking of the following universities/schools.
1. Tepper - Carnegie Mellon MSCF
2. Princeton
3. Villanova
4. UIUC
5. Georgia Institute of Technology
6.Purdue ( I am not sure as to placements for Purdue)
Some of the primary factors that go into the decision making include - school reputations, placements, cost of tuition etc
I think schools 1,2,4 do not offer any kind of university aid, but 3,5,6 may offer graduate teaching/research scholarships. I am not sure on this info...it would be great if someone could confirm it.
From what I have gathered from previous posts on this topic, UIUC intake is as high as 100+, so placements are a bit doubtful.
Can anyone shed light on Villanova and Purdue courses..??
Folks - please feel free to confirm/contradict the points mentioned above.
Thanks!!
