Hi fellow Club members,
I am in a real need of your guidance. This is my first post, so kinda nervous.
Well, a brief about me and my objective.
I did B.Tech (2006-2010, Computer Science, India) and MBA – Finance and Marketing( 2010-12, , India) , passed Level I of the CFA program. Earlier, I wanted to do PhD and eventually job in Financial sector (both in Canada/USA). However, I realized that my GPA (2.6/4.0) in my MBA is very low and have just 1 year of relevant experience. So I decided to pursue MS-Finance from Canada/US rather PhD. Thus, appeared for GMAT (Oct 1, 2014).
Result:
Overall: 710, 92%
Verbal: 34, 71%
Quant: 51, 97%
AWA: 5.0
IR : 5/12.
(GMAT Club deserves a standing ovation for the awesome work it has done for many many aspirants like me.
)
Toefl: IBT -106. LORs were ready.
So, I was extremely earnest to file my applications and looked forward to work really hard, especially to get education and finally a job there. However, I could not apply to colleges this year, mostly for cost of education and partly for the lack of guidance,
But for next year, I have shortlisted colleges within 35K – 40K Dollars tuition fee. Thus, please guide me on the financial aspects.
1. Precisely, if I am able to arrange for the 1st sem fees from India on my own, what are my chances to get a part time job to arrange for 2nd sem fees? And for 3rd sem, I plan to take from my father
. I humbly ask to guide me, am I thinking on right lines or it is too un-realistic?
2. According to my result above, what are my chances of getting admission and/or scholarship in the following and similar colleges, provided I apply in sept 2015 for fall 2016 semester?
Example of shortlisted colleges (Canada):
1. Concordia University John Molson School Of Business
2. University Of Alberta School Of Business
3. Simon Fraser University - Beedie School of Business
Eagerly waiting for your guidance.
Regards.
