I want to work in Marketing and/or Business Development. I have read that since MS programs do not focus on personal development(strategic and leadership skills) as well as MBA programs, they can be a hinderance in professional growth in long run. Is that true?

Yes that is true, which is why I asked about your career goals. You also won't be as mobile so business development won't be easy to get with just an MS in marketing (not impossible but the post-MBA jobs won't be as easy to get). What is limiting you to those schools? GMAT? It may be worth trying to retake it in that case.

I feel Ms program admission is less competitive than an MBA from same university. I feel my profile is not strong enough for an MBA at top 10 b-schools.

Thank You. I will email you a few queries related to application
