Hi everyone,
I am currently preparing for the gmat fe with mock scores around the 660 mark. I also gave a GRE PowerPrep 2 mock with a score of 317 (Q-162 and V-155).
I am looking for MSBA courses mainly in the UK but also keeping my option open in Germany. I was initially aiming for the US as well but seeing the geopolitical tensions between India and US specially regarding visa and post study work, I have currently dropped the plan. Below is my profile:
Nationality - Indian
College - Narsee Monjee Institute of Managenemt Studies, Mumbai (NMIMS)
Degree - Bachelers in Commerce (Honours) specialising in Accounting and Finance. (I have also studied advanced mathematics, probability and statistics as part of my program).
CGPA - 3.17/4
Work Experience - at the time 6 plus months at a US based corporate travel company as an Operations Analyst. Although my designation is of an Operations Analyst, my main work revolves around reporting, analysing and assisstance in descision making on a global level, for our companies top Client (a global FMCG giant). I also provide audit assisstance mainly revolving our product.
Previous Experiences -
1. 9 month internship at a Petronas Subsidiary company in the Renewables department (Hydrogen and its application). I was a marketing and sales intern but most of my work revolved around market sounding, research and some valuation and decision making modles.
2. 2 month internship in a small Indian company as an Equity Research Intern.
Extra Curriculars- I was involved in music during my undergrad and became Head of Department for the music committee in the colleges Cultural Club where I lead a team of 25+ members to perform in national level fests as well as create our own musical pieces. In my last year I was a mentor for the same music committee where I participated in multiple national level fests and have various podium finishes.
Target Colleges - Imperial College of London, UCL, WHU, TUM, Warwick.
If you have any more college recommendations, please help me out!
Also, what kind of Gmat/GRE scores do I need to target to get into Imperial?
Many Thanks!
Hi
speedemon,
Thanks for sharing your profile.
You’re in a strong position for MSBA programs, especially with your academic background in commerce and quantitative subjects, combined with relevant internships and your current role involving analytics and decision-making support. Your GMAT Focus mock scores (~660) translate roughly to a 700 on the classic scale, which is competitive for most UK and German programs.
For Imperial specifically, aiming for 665+ would strengthen your chances. UCL and Warwick are also realistic targets, and schools like WHU and TUM are solid options in Germany, though TUM leans more technical.
Your experience, although not explicitly data-focused, clearly involves analytical responsibilities — be sure to highlight this in your SOP. Your CFA Level 1 and leadership in music add great depth. Stick with GMAT Focus if you're trending up, and apply early to maximize your chances.
