Hi Guys

I have applied for LSE MSc Finance and Economics and I am yet to hear back (I applied in mid february). I just wanted to get your opinion on my chances:

Undergraduate: Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Bachelor of Economics (Economics, Econometrics) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), the top business school in Australia and a global top 50 university. I graduated with first class honours, second in my cohort.

Thesis: During my honours year at UNSW I did a dissertation in international asset pricing that derived a model of exchange rates using advanced asset pricing theory. I also look at the implications of my model for the carry trade. I am looking to publish with my thesis adviser over next few years.

Extra Curriculars: reasonable co-curriculars as presidents of many societies as well as co-founding a student business start up.

Experience: Teaching Assistant at UNSW (Corporate Finance), Research Assistant (Focusing on derivatives and volatility modelling)

GMAT: 680 (Q49 V34)- a bit low but I only had about a month to study before submiting my application.

I eventually intend to do PhD, which is why I applied for the LSE program. I've also got an offer from Cambridge MPhil Finance, both of which I think are good training for PhD. But I would take LSE if I can get it. What do you guys think of my chances?

The Cambridge MPhil is pretty good. I'd think you would stand a good shot at one of the lower LSE MSc programs. They have a range and I believe the MSc Finance and Private Equity is one of the harder ones to get into with the LSE Accounting and Finance being a little more lenient.
