Hey guys,

I have come across the Applied economics and finance masters at the CBS and I would like to ask whether anyone can compare this to normal Msc in finance. I know that the classical master degree is more theoretically focused and this should be more practical, but how does it compare when it comes to employment. Is the overall Msc in finance better in terms of future career prospects? Or does it have higher reputation? Thanks.

Hi,

I think it really depends what you want to do afterwards. For example, if you are sure you want to pursue a career in banking, a masters in finance is probably a better choice.
However, the MSc at CBS has an excellent reputation and it enables you to go for different types of careers also within economics. It is also longer and the content covered is greater than for normal finance masters, so in that sense you could say it is better.
If you are unsure what you want to do CBS is an excellent choice, that's my opinion anyway.

Best of luck

The program is a hybrid and will include more economic theory. The main advantage is the CBS brand and location. I believe the program is longer than a traditional MSF would be.
