Dear all,
I would very much appreciate if you could help me evaluate my profile and suggest me some schools in the US for MSF programs.
I wish to pursue Ph.D. program after getting my MSF, so I am very much looking for those programs longer than a year.
I am non-US citizen (from S. Korea), and I will be earning my BS from one of the top universities in South Korea with majors both in Real Estate Studies and English Language and Literature. My major GPA is 4.5(out of 4.5) and cumulative GPA is 4.2 (out of 4.5, class rank 3/170).
My GRE is not so much impressive; I have v-151 (51%), q-169 (97%), and awa-4 (59%). [320 total]
If you convert that into GMAT score, that would be around 680.
I have one summer internship at Savills Investment and other experiences are irrelevant to the field of finance
[military service 2 years, teaching experience at a language institution for a year]
I will be getting all three of my recommendation letters from my professors, which I believe would be strong and solid in terms of the contents.
That's all I have so far, pleas feel free to give me some advise and let me know what are the schools I should be looking at.
Here are some of the list I made:
University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign
Georgia State University
University of Maryland
Illinois Institution of Technology
Washington University in St. Louis
Thanks!
You'll get into all of those programs without issue. Spend time talking to the professors in the program and make sure they are going to be supportive with your PhD goals. The program will be good for you, but if you can find a professor to essentially mentor you it will benefit you the most. You want to get into a position where you can help with research, maybe GA a class. Will build your resume and help you get in to a doctoral program.
