Between D and E, I went for E.Considering the conclusion talks about endangering the tress and not mushrooms. Seedlings of the fir tree doesn't die because of the nutrients provided by the mushroom, hence fits the purpose.
D talks about growth of the mushroom instead.
Strange that OA is D.

E is simply amplifying what we already know--that the mushrooms are beneficial to the trees. If the trees will die without the mushrooms, this strengthens the author's argument! Watch out for extreme answer choices, even on strengthen/weaken, where they ought to be useful. You may find that the extreme choice is just taking you further in the wrong direction.

Since we want to weaken, we need something that indicates that harvesting the mushrooms will *not* harm the trees. D works, because it indicates that harvesting mushrooms just leads to more mushrooms.

In my opinion there is no doubt possible. E STRENGHT the conclusion, as it say that if we harvest the mushroom->trees may die, this is exactly what the conclusion of the statement is about.

B or D, between the 2, D is clearly stronger... while B is too vague and not clear it "might" weak the conlusion but is not really sure.

Am I correct in my reasonning for E?
