Please go ahead and check how many Indian nationals (not American bord Indians) graduate from Stanford as per graduating class records for last 5 years. The highest has been 4. So that answers that.

I would still give Stanford serious consideration if it is a strong match with one's goals. The point of a well structured portfolio is to include a range of schools- each element need not be a high probability event.

I would suggest applying to your school of choice too..Trying certainly wont reduce your chances even further..Now as per statistics may have a 2% chance but if you dont try it'll be 0%..

Best of luck with your apps

Now that 1 Indian seat is gone for stanford (https://www.gmatclub.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=32839), it makes much less sense to apply to Stanford.

:)

Hjort, On a serious note, how do you assess my chances at Wharton, MIT and Haas ?

Greetings,

These are all difficult schools for admission. I would base my decision on portfolio inclusion not on the probability of admission but on whether the schools are consistent with your career goals. Since they appear to satisfy your goals, I would keep them.
