I just got back from taking my first GMAT today and I received a 530 (Q35; V28). I spent about three months studying for the test using Kaplan Guides to study and the GMAT prep application. I was planning everything around me doing decent on this test. Here is my situation: I don't know if I should apply to schools now or if I should take a second go at the GMAT. My undergrad GPA is 3.89 and my degree is in Business Administration with a dual concentration in Marketing and Management.
I planned on applying to Temple and Rutgers. Does anyone have experience with either of these schools as far as admissions are concerned?

Rutgers' average GMAT score is a 637 and Temple's average is a 655. Your undergrad GPA is very impressive and above both schools' averages, so you do stand a chance at admission. If you do have the time though, I would advise you to retake the GMAT and aim to score closer to the schools' GMAT score averages. You should retake the GMAT!
Your current score is too far away from the avg. GMAT scores of these schools.
Take a GMAT course with a score improvement guarantee and you should be able to improve quickly to the necessary level.
