Hello, I also did this one wrong....

the reasons are:

None: it is a singular subject, as: everyone, everybody, someone, somebody, nothing, each, either, neither, something.

IMHO
NONE is not everytime singular. Wren and Martin grammar writes following for NONE:

None is constructed in the singular or plural as the sense may require, as:

Did you buy any mangoes ? there were none in the market.
None of these words are now current.

Though i do not know how ETS treat NONE - singular / plural ? Can someone cite any ETS example ? thanks

This link will explain why C is better.
https://www.gmatclub.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=8925
Also, Dharmin gave a good explanation with "none" which is always singular when preceding a prepositional phrase.
ie none of my shoes fits my feet
ie none of the students believes in it
The blue portions are prepositional phrases. "Remove" them and you will see how the singular tense fits the bill...
none fits my feet
none believes in it

I went with A initially, but this is a great question. It tricks you into picking a verb construction that is parallel.

I think this discussion will be relevance - pronouns like NONE are elaborated.

https://www.gmatclub.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=9886.

With this we have Terrorists as Plura - so 'WERE' is right. 'Bomb threat' singular and 'HAS' is right.

So, C.
