There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
Yesterday i had my first GMAT exam , i had been preparing for the D-day for last 3-4 months and had written a few rehearsal tests as well and so i am not at all surprised with the scores. Being a non-native speaker (yes, you can use 'being' with a noun , God damn !!) , i have a little weak hold on verbal part of the exam and as such it has taken a huge toll on me . while i managed to finish the Quant before 1 min + more than 30 secs , i struggled to finish the verbal section and in the end guessed last 3-4 question in verbal section . Though i am little disappointed with my verbal score , i have decided not to give up on it and not bow down to GMAT just because i am not a native speaker. I think there are enough of posts on 'my gmat experience' so i will not swamp gmatclub with my writing but all i will suggest new test takers , especially those whose first language is not english, PLEASE READ AND COMPREHEND TONS OF ARTICLES . if require,go to basic , make notes, build vocabulary and do not sign up for exam until you get your dream score in rehearsal test .
my socres : Q49 V27 : 630 Total .

Hi there Your quant score is really good. How did you find the quant questions in the real test vis a vis those in the OG? Would you say that the last 30-40 questions in the OG PS chapter would be a fair representation of the type of questions you saw on the test.
Thanks

thanks . I have not done OG for Quants. I just did almost all 700 level questions on gmatclub and was solving almost all the questions posted by bunuel and karishma in last 2 months. gmatclub has more than enough questions for practice.
Be sure to attempt the question first on your own - then watch the video - then re-attempt the question. This approach will help you maximize your learning.
Can you let us know how much you were scoring in Verbal in your mock tests?
I can empathize with you, because I am also a non-native speaker and in fact after my initial frustration in Verbal (multiple books, endless idioms etc.), verbal had seemed very tough to me as well.
However, I persisted and now, I feel much more comfortable, though I have not appeared in the exam yet. Also, while determination is important, see if can get a "direction" to your preparation, by accessing some good material/coaching (online/classroom).
