Sunday Update: 23/8/2012 -
MGMAT 3 - 660 ( Quant 49, Verbal 32).
As you can see I am stuck in high 600 range inspite of my best efforts. Clearly I am making some mistake.
I have gone overboard in re-reading
MGMAT SC, OG 12. The experts advice is not quite working in my case.
So to identify what was going wrong gave a GMAT Club Verbal untimed test. CR and RC were good. SC Qs were debatable. Still good practice.
Here is my summary as to why I am stuckI was getting bored around Q20-25 in Verbal, not fatigued like, but bored. There was a certain unwillingness of my mind to gave the fullest.
Just wanted to get over with the test. By confining myself to OG I was not familiarising myself enough with these questions types. I was treating these problems like physics problems where a same concept can applied in several places. GMAT tutors can afford to sit on problems for hours, unfortunately we students donot have that luxury. We can only progress by brute force practice of 400-500 problems of each type SC,CR and RC. Giving a number a full length test should also help. The whole point is to develop the art of pattern recognition and to be fearless of the problems.
