Congratulation.................How much time you spent on the actual preparation. I know the time depends on ones background etc etc. But your input will help considering 90% of us are average with 5% each in extremes.

Thanks.

I'd think I spent about one and half month in actual preparation and most of the effort was during 10 days before the actual test. I started thinkg about it last year and bought the Kaplan guide in December but didn't do anything meaningful. Since the middle of March I started practicing regularly, but it was limited to about 3-4 hrs. a week. During the 10 days before the exam I did almost one full test a day with PP2 just the day before. My background is in Engineering (it has been 10 years since I got out of school) and I thought I'll ace the Quant section without any preparation but I was unpleasntly surprised when I found out that I wasn't doing so well. I needed to get into GMAT mode of maximizing score under time constraints. Timing wise I'd recommend that once you're reasonably confident of taking GMAT, take the appointment within two weeks making sure you'll be able to spend sufficent time during those two weeks. That will help you stay in the 'zone' before the exam.
