Hey guys,
it's my first post in this forum. I took the GMAT earlier this week and since I learned here a lot, I want to share my experience with you.
I prepared with GMATprep and the book of McGraw-Hill. I purchased the latter mainly because it comes with 12 practice tests. However, I had not enough time to take all of them and was a little disappointed. If you aim to score high, you schould probably buy another book. McGraw-Hill has many errors in the quantitative section. I encountered explanations that did not really fit to the question, e.g. a '< 0' in the stem suddenly became a '<= 0' or a '< 1' in the answer. Further they consider 1 a prime number...
Now the real test: I expected a score > 730. In most of the practice tests I had around 720, but I always took them late at night and was very exhausted from work. Therefore I hoped for a better score in the actual GMAT.
Finally: 750 with Q51
and V40 
.
At the very end of the test I thought I did pretty well in both parts and expect > 42 in verbal. Unfortunately I was wrong. Anyway, the result is quite OK and I am happy that I do not have to take it a second time.

Oh yes, there is life after the GMAT, I forgot...
You are right, it's time to think about the rest of the application. But with TOEFL and GMAT done, I feel like halfway in business school.
