Folks,
I took my GMAT yesterday. I scored 750. Though I am satisfied with the score, something has been rankling me. I finished quants and had around 2 mins remaining. I selected the answer for the last question and did NOT hit the confirmation button. I thought I will relax for sometime. That way I could have got 2 mins extra break. However, as I closed my eyes and started doing some deep breathing, I think I got carried away. Next thing I remember is that the message "Time Expired" popped up on the screen. I am worried if the last question would have been marked "Not Attempted". This will pull down my scores drastically. Please let me know if this will be the case!!!
By the way, My prep details are as below. (I am surprised that I scored really well on Kaplan tests and not so good on PR).
1. Kaplan - 630,670,700
2. Princeton Review - 710, 680, 670
3. Powerprep - 710, 770
Actual GMAT - 750
I had my hopes really high after the powerpep test. And so am a little bit disappointed.
My 2-pence worth of advice.
1. Do not work too hard the day before the exam.
2. On the day of the exam - Try to do some deep breathing exercises and keep your nerves calm. ( I actually ran for a mile. I wanted some blood flow into my brain.
).
3. Take a few chocolate bars and a "power drink" ( Red Bull Helps).
4. I have a weak bladder and had to "go" thrice. So I did not drink too much water. But someone who doesnt have the problem should drink ample water.
5. Do a few problems on the day of the exam. Just to get into the groove.
6. Please know that YOU will do BETTER in the actual test because you WILL BE more careful and you WILL know that you CANNOT make silly mistakes.
Also, I feel, too many people are scoring too well on the GMAT these days. So the "percentile" for even high scores is getting lower. I suggest you aim at 770 if you want to get to a good school. what the heck, aim at 800. You will be surprised by the number of people who are actually in the 770-800 range. So aim high and push yourselves.
Final word of advice- PRAY FOR ME!
