The results can speak for themselves, I immediately showed improvement across the board in all three sections, and though it was skewed a bit for the official exam towards Verbal, I overall massively outperformed my previous pace once I started using TTP to build up the remaining gaps in my knowledge. It was stuck at a plateau and TTP got me out.
This is so great to see! I couldn’t be happier with the role TTP played in your success. Thanks for sharing, and best of luck with everything ahead.

Been two weeks since my latest GMAT attempt blew my own expectations out of the water, and after reflection, I've decided to debrief here as GMAT Club was a big part of my journey.

Material:
  • Magoosh GMAT (subscription plus admissions)
  • GMAT Club
  • GMAT Official Prep Questions (Quant)
  • Target Test Prep (one month self study subscription)

Scores:

  1. (2/11/25) Official Mock 1 - 645 (Q80, V83, DI83)

  3. (3/8/25) Official Mock 3 - 645 (Q80, V84, DI82)
  4. (3/14/25) Official Mock 4 - 655 (Q81, V82, DI85)
  5. (3/15/25) In Person Official - 665 (Q82, V85, DI82)
  6. (4/11/25) GMAT Club Mock - 685 (Q86, V84, DI82)
  7. (4/16/25) Official Mock 5 - 665 (Q80, V84, DI85)
  8. (4/19/25) Official Mock 6 - 665 (Q80, V84, DI85)
  9. (5/23/25) In Person Official - 665 (Q86, V82, DI81)
  10. (5/3/25) Official Mock 3 (retest) - 685 (Q86, V84, DI82)
  11. (5/10/25) Official Mock 4 (retest) - 675 (Q84, V83, DI 84)
  12. (5/17/25) Official Mock 5 (retest) - 705 (Q86, V86, DI83)
  13. (5/23/25) In Person Official - 715 (Q84, V90, DI82)

Order for all exams (Verbal, Data Insights, Quant): reasoning going in was take area that I need to think more conceptually first, transition from conceptual to problem solving next, take a break to reset and then go full problem solving to bring it home.

I started studying for the GMAT in January of '25, with the ambitious goal of being done by Memorial Day so I could focus on applications over the summer. I figured that I would need to spend the most time on Verbal as I was always a math guy (Industrial Engineering degree in College). This seemed to be the case as well as I learned/reviewed the concepts, as the lessons in the Quant and Data insights came naturally to me through the recorded lessons (though I needed some time to re-remember the less common math concepts).

I initially used Magoosh for by test prep, and looking back at it now I would say it was a great place to start and re-acquaint myself with the key concepts but was NOT encompassing of all the needed areas for my target score of 685+. This became apparent as I took my first few official mocks and constantly underperformed where I wanted to be in the quant section. (I will also say that I had a pattern of struggle with a mental math error or not reading the question stem correctly at least one or twice in the quant section for every test. I did my best to mitigate it but ADD makes things challenging with timed standardized tests.)

Realizing after my first Official exam that I had a clear Quant deficiency, I spent the second stage of my prep solely trying to improve this area, as my mocks and official test proved I was in great company for the other sections. The biggest thing I needed to get better was experience reading/understanding the logic of quant questions in general, so I bought the official book of quant questions and found GMAT Club for additional practice.

This definitely helped me somewhat, as I saw improvement when I took the GMAT Club mock exam, but I didn't see improvement on the official mocks (again partially due to a math error or improperly answering question), however I did see improvement in quant on my second official exam, but they came with the cost of being deficient in the other sections (had ran out of time on DI and had to guess last 5 questions) where I would always take Quant as the last of the three sections.

At this point I turned to TTP to help me get over the final hill and bring home my target score. I took a one month subscription of self study and once again leaned heavily into quant, but allowed by self some time to review verbal and DI at a high level. I will say I was blown away at the insights I gain for the verbal section from TTP, but also the additional math strategies to help with my timing of Quant problem solving.

I highly recommend to those who are on the fence to mimic what I did and leverage the amazing content at TTP to give you that extra boost at the end to reach your goals!
