I began my GMAT Prep with ScoreLeap in May. After my first diagnostic, I was worried and confused. As I am currently an engineering student from NITK Surathkal, I felt comfortable with the Quant section, however, I really struggled with the Verbal section. I had no clue as to how to approach the different sections and did not have the time to complete over 10 questions. But when I began my GMAT prep with ScoreLeap (Kalyan), he ensured that by following his strategies, I would be able to tackle this section, and his strategies delivered on this!
We began with the sentence correction section. After teaching the basics- the rules and the grammar- he then taught me the strategies to approach the questions on GMAT. By implementing these strategies, I was able to solve SC questions in under a minute and fifteen seconds, with good accuracy. As I solved more questions from the OGs, I was able to boost my accuracy while reducing the amount of time I spend on each question. This gave me more time for the RC and CR sections. We then moved on to the CR section. His approach to CR helped me really understand what exactly to look for in the answer choices, and simplified the entire process. The FIRE strategy that Kalyan taught for the RC section is invaluable and helps you solve some of the toughest passages with good accuracy. His test-taking strategies are amazing too, and I could see the improvement in the way I approach the test after implementing these strategies in the mock tests.
I had given 5 official mocks before I gave my first attempt and I was averaging around 680 in the mocks. But on D-Day, my nerves took over and I was shocked to see a 630(Q47 V27) flash in front of me. But ScoreLeap (Kalyan) encouraged me and kept my spirits up. After analyzing my ESR, he gave me a customized study plan and asked me to take another attempt after one month. I stuck to the plan and kept learning from my mistakes as I practiced by maintaining an
error log. I had taken 2 mocks before the attempt and was averaging around 720. On the D-Day, I kept cool and tried to give my 100% attention to each question. But I did not implement Kalyan’s skipping strategy. I spent too much time on a few questions which I knew I could get right, and thus lost out time on around 3-4 questions in the verbal section at the end. I also committed a few silly errors in the quant section, which I realized after the exam. I scored a 680(Q48 V35). Although it was not a very bad score, I knew that I had the potential to get 700+. Kalyan saw this in me too, and although he said that 680 was a good score, he asked me to take the test again. This time, he did not give me an intensive study plan but told me to stick to his strategy. I gave the next attempt after a month, on October 7th, and stuck to his strategies. I was delighted to see a 720(Q49 V39) at the end of the exam. I was happy that my hard work had paid off, and that by sticking to the strategies, I was able to achieve my target.
I can safely say that my experience with ScoreLeap has been really amazing. The teaching, the material, and the support they have provided throughout the course and during the 3 attempts have been very beneficial and I would definitely recommend ScoreLeap to anyone looking to give the GMAT. Kalyan is able to simplify the different sections, his strategies have been invaluable, and he is able to recognize your true potential, the areas where you have difficulties, and guide you to achieve your dream score! If you are looking at achieving your dream GMAT Score, I would say, ScoreLeap is the place!
