Hi again! Thanks for the additional info.

I think your work sounds really interesting and will reflect positively on you that you made a switch from a highly technical one to a more strategic one. It sounds like you have a lot of leadership experience on the job too. And your post-MBA goals fit well with your experience too.

One concern I have is your GPA which is low. Though the fact that you went to an IIT, have a strong GMAT and cleared CFA will help. I am also concerned about your lack of extracurriculars currently. You can mention your college activities but that won't count as much as current activities would.

So given these concerns I would apply to a range of schools so you have some options. Schools in the 15-30 range are definitely possible if you are smart about which schools you pick, do your research on those schools, and demonstrate how you will personally contribute to each school.

Take a look at post-MBA vs MSBA career options / typical career paths (schools will all release employment data) and that should help as you think about which option is best for you.

Good luck, and keep us posted if we can help with anything else!

wow; thanks for quick revert.
My GPA in IITD - 6.25/10
I have no community work experience, although I was involved in couple of events in college, as a event coordinators in our techincal and Art festivals. My hobbies includes gyming, reading novels. I have also build up interest in making electronic music.
Let me jot down the complete scenario.

My work has varied a lot in the past 5 years. I started with working on mainframes in Bank of America, did basic reporting stuff etc. In the meanwhile I started preparing for my CFA, as I had some tilt towards finance and business side. I realised that banal coding is not my cup of tea. I cleared CFA level two in 2013. That times I was looking for a financial cum business role to switch. In Sept 2013, I stumbled upon this job in Times of India. As part of the central national strategy team for print division, I was involved in business planning (primarily AOP budget) and market data research.
After spending a year in the organisation, my profile started tilting towards analytics and my interest also has grown in it. for the past 1.5 years, I have been involved in project based assignments, primarily involving analytics : Revenue optimization, cross-selling, client churn prediction. I have good exposure to coding also (R, sql, VBA).

My post graduate goals lie somewhere between strategy roles and analytics(Big Data). That is one reason I have also been thinking about a MSBA course than a MBA course. But I have still to decide what is best for me. I Know i left coding way back, but the same coding when presented to drive data science, it somehow feels gud :)

I feel that I have good leadership skills. I have led the team in my workplace many a times (good and bad), so going for a core MSBA course still feels contradictory. This is somewhere I need counselling.

Again, any help will be much appreciated.
