Hey guys,
So Ive been on the site for a few weeks now and have been doing problems, reading everyones strategies and studying relatively hard. I took my first CAT about 2 months ago and got a 510 on a Kaplan CAT (24 Q, 33 V if I remember correctly). Today I took a 2nd CAT with a 560 (36 Q, 31 V) on a MGMAT CAT. Safe to say, Im disappointed. I thought Id be breaking 600 already as I have been hitting SC & CR hard using the OG and MGMAT books. Normally Im 75%-80% on SC and in the 70% CR range. My Quant was certainly better than my previous test but the Verbal went down a few poiints, not happy.
As for my actual test date, its March 10th and Im wondering what you all think in terms of tweaking my results to more of a mid-30s Quant and 40-something Verbal. Im aiming for a 650. Im sure I could reschedule my test (already moved it from February once) but would rather not. Im applying for 2009 so I know I can take the test a few times if need be. In the long run, another $50 fee isnt a big deal if I had to move my test. I just hate delaying but figured Id get some feedback!

I wouldn't worry too much...both Kaplan and MGMAT are a lot harder than the real test, with questions that aren't overly realistic (esp Kaplan for verbal, MGMAT for quant...more steps than you'd need to take).
Rely on GMAT Prep or Princeton Review scores for a better measure of how you're doing. Take one of those tests before you reschedule! You'll likely see a much higher score.
GMAT Prep tests are free from https://www.mba.com. There is one free PR test on https://www.review.com. To get the rest, you need to buy Cracking the GMAT. Worth every penny. Loved it.

I would suggest you to postpone the exam, as score around 600 is of no use (for most of the schools). Eventhough Kaplan is harder, but MGAT is some what close to GMAT. But you need to reply on GMATPrep. If you are aiming for 700+ then it is of no use to take the exam when ur practice scores are around 600. But if you want to expience the gmat exam then u can take it. Good luck!!
