Hi all!
I just got my first Gmat a week ago (Q50 V23 S610). As you can see below I was getting about +700 in MGMAT but I realized that official GMAT as easier Quan but really harder Verbal. So I got V23, which has really disappointing for me. I plan to have a second attempt after 1.5 months. So below contains what I did for last 5 months and what I plan to for 1.5 months. I will focus more on Verbal and this time I believe that my score should be at least V35.
Just shortly about me. I am from Turkey working for the leading telecommunication company as the product manager in business dev. I plan to apply for 2011 entrance to Top 10 in US and Top 3 in UK MBA programs.

My most powerful area, so I guess I need to have more practive. I try to practice more with 1000 SC ques and Kaplan tests.

How can I practice more? I memorized OG+OG Verbal Review.

I am having difficulties to understand the whole argument at my first attempt. So I re-read and waste my time. Should I read daily articles from McKinsey Quar and Harvard Buss Review.
I also plan to focus more on PowerScore CR Bible

How can I improve my understanding of the whole passage at the first attemp?

Most weakest part of the verbal for me. I am having difficulties to understand the main idea of the passages. I also have lots of unknown words. Inferencing is really hard for me as I could not understand the whole passage. I take notes as I read the passage and I have my strategy to read the first paragraph as a whole and focus more on the each first sentences of the latter paragraphs.
Question:
One of my friend said me that I did not have to memorize "Most popular Gmat vocabulary" its a waste of time. So should I memorize?
How can I improve my understanding of the whole passage at the first attemp? McKinsey Quar,Harvard Buss Review etc?

My new target 730!

With Q50 on quant you obviously have a stranglehold on the math. That's the good news.
However, judging from the title of your post alone it is obvious English is not your first language. As a native speaker, I can understand what your trying to say despite the unclear wording. However, from the way your write and select your words it obvious you need a deeper understanding of English before you can tame the verbal on the GMAT. I would consider investing in a private tutor to work with you intensely for a month or two to help put a shine on your English and to help push you over the hump in terms of understanding. Even as a native speaker the GMAT verbal section can be challenging so without proper English its an unfair fight.
Concentrate on polishing up your English, then study for GMAT. The good news is your so close. It is within your reach.
