Hello guys,
I am really disappointed. I was about to give up all the GMAT things and my MSc journey.
This is what happened:
GMAT prep 3 710 (Q50, V35)
GMAT prep 4 710 (Q50, V35) <- 2 questions wrong in Quant (#1, #4)
I gave
MGMAT twice: Q50 and Q49.
GMAT club tests: on general ~Q45 and twice Q38... (both were surprising...) all the tests were timed, in exam mode. However, I could do better on these
gmatclub tests - I didn't focus that much and just rushed on questions just to familiarize myself with the content. I mean if I couldn't get the problem right in 1-2mins, I just used to skip it (guess) and check the correct solution afterwards.
Real gmat: 570 (Q41,v28) - what a shame.......
-> no number properties, which are my score boosters, problems (literally 1 or 2)
-> ~60% of Quant section questions were word problems; some extremely hard questions at the very beginning (I've never seen similar questions before - couldn't get the pattern at all)
IS THAT NORMAL? I encountered
no overlapping sets, no absolute value, no statistics problems... not a single!!! I remember only few geometry and tons of word problems (combined with geometry/volumes/etc) . Two hard combinatorics problems (which I'm sure I got correct) and one easy probability question. One easy work problem and one easy distance problem.
-> 3 veeery long passages and one short - forced me to guess on one whole RC (4 questions in a row)
-> ~80% accuracy in CR went to about 30% (my feelings) - two bold face Qs
-> ~100% accuracy in SC maintained - very easy problems
I found all the quant questions different.... they were questions that I've never encountered anywhere. GMAT prep questions were 100% different, as if it were a completely other exam.
I cancelled the score immediately and barely resisted the urge to punch the screen. I suffer from insomnia, I couldn't sleep the whole night before. My exam was at 11:30 am, now I have to take the next at 8:30 am.
Should I buy ESR? What are your recommendations?
