Hello all,
It's time that I vented my frustration, and sought your words. And your words, I really need.
I have given 4 mock tests:
1. 590: MGMAT's free test, which I gave about a year ago without any studies. Miserable score but this test was tough.
2. 710: Kaplan's CAT 1, which I gave a couple months ago with halfway decent studies.
3. 750: Kaplan's CAT 2, which I gave last week with all my studies concluded.
4. 730: GMATPrep's Test 1, which I gave just a couple hours ago.
I don't know why, but I am very disappointed with the score on GMATPrep. It's supposed to be really close to the real deal, and there are a couple of things that have me worried. I ran out of time and missed 2 questions in Quant and 2 questions in Verbal. I don't know how I can fix this in 2-3 days. On top of that, I have this expectation from myself of scoring 750+. And the last 730 really hit me bad. In fact, I was getting distraught while giving that test!
My GMAT is on 16th, which is ~5 days from today.
I'm reading up on some of the top posts here but its not comforting me enough, so I thought I'd vent.
Anything you'd want to ask or tell me, pour them in here (or PM me).

Honestly, you should just take a deep breath. 730 is a great score and finishing the exam will likely offer you a boost. I have done a lot of prep with people and notice that once someone starts spending more that 2:30 on a problem, the response is not correct. Be disciplined with your time and that should give you an extra 10 or 20 points. Try that with another GMAT Prep exam so that you can boost your confidence going into the exam.
Also, don't sweat it, your application is not going to be materially different with a 730 vs. a 750.

The line between a 730 and 750 is really quite 'thin'; at that level, the GMAT becomes really sensitive to little mistakes. Given what you described about the last couple of questions in the Quant and Verbal sections, THAT could have literally been the difference in those scores. The likelier answer though is that you made couple of mistakes on 'gettable' questions earlier in each of those sections.
Saying that you're disappointed with a 730 makes you sound 'silly' though - whether a 750 or a 730, they're both still PRACTICE scores and they're both at a level that most Test Takers will never achieve in their lives. If you scored 730 on Test Day, you could (and should) apply to ANY Business Schools that interest you.
During these last few days, you should NOT take any additional practice CATs. Do you some review and a bit more practice, but keep everything relatively 'light' - you'll be better served going into Test Day well-rested and ready to work hard than cramming like crazy and going into Test Day too tired to perform up to your potential.
