Hi All ,

My GMAT was scheduled on 11th October 2014. I was not allowed to give the test as my registered name had only initials , which were expanded in my passport . I had my driver's license with the same name as the registered one . All my other documents such as driver's license , PAN card and university certificates have the name that i have used for registration . On contacting pearson customer care , they asked me to reschedule the test by paying the whole $ 250 .

Has anyone faced this issue before ?

p.s :
I was confused because of the following in mba.com .

Acceptable forms of ID:

Passport book*
Government-issued driver’s license
Government-issued national/state/province identity card (including European ID card)
Military ID card
*Note: A passport is always required when testing outside of one’s country of citizenship. There are no exceptions, even if you hold a government-issued ID from the country in which you live. In some cases (see Special Restrictions), a passport is the only acceptable ID, even if you are testing within your country of citizenship.

Hi,

Many has faced this issue before. Mostly most of the Indian's. We tend to put initials in our government proof's and in university certificates. But our passport will have the initial's expanded.

But as per the MBA.com website only valid passport is accepted as the proof in INDIA. Even Though we have other government proof. They wont accept those as the valid proof.

I believe they would have taken the scan copy of your passport. In a day or two, your name will be updated as in passport. So no need to worry when you schedule again next time.

But the 250$ is gone now, we cannot do anything now :( :| . Sorry for that. Please be careful next time.

Hmm Sad..

To all my Indian friends out here , Please make sure that your registered name is exactly the same as the one in your passport. Else be ready to loose $250.

Thanks Gnpth for ur response.
