1/3[x+12000] = 5/9x is one equation.
Solving you get x=18000.

1/2[x+12000] = 5/9x is another.
Solving for x you get x = 108000.

Now investment in stocks = 3/9*18000 = 6000. [Lower end]
to 3/9*108000 = 36000 [Higher end]

So 6000 to 36000.

Option C is thus the answer.
