Hi JB05
Many non-native English speakers learn their elementary classes in non-English medium and then they face problems in verbal section. This is one of the reasons native English speakers have an edge over them in verbal section of GMAT exam. Since quant section does not involve complex English language, that advantage is lost in quant section.

JB05
Are there any numbers available for the average quant and verbal scores for native vs non-native English speakers? I'm a native English speaker and I normally perform much better on math tests than English tests, but on GMAT practice tests/questions I'm routinely scoring a higher percentile on verbal than quant. I'm guessing this is because non-native English speakers are likely to perform better in quant than in verbal, adjusting the percentiles. From the numbers I have seen it appears that about 55% of GMAT test takers are non-native English speakers as well, so it seems like this could play a significant role in percentiles. Any thoughts?
