From what I've read on this forum from the position of non-native speakers, I can say that the GMAT is not so vocabulary oriented as say the SAT. But a solid grasp of English will be very beneficial. The better your command of the language, the less energy it will take you to solve problems.

As long as you're comfortable with reading English at a reasonable pace, then there is no need to study vocabulary. If you're still a little worried about this, then read some GMAT Fiction! This will help you for SC, RC, and vocabulary.
