Hey everyone!
Will be applying to Masters programs in the UK for the September 2025 intake. Currently working on GMAT with the exam scheduled for 28th Feb,2025. Hope to get atleast a 685 and apply to MSc Finance at Imperial and LSE, but doesn't seem likely unless a miracle happens (stuck at 605). The alternative is a low tuition uni but a solid program. Specifically MSc Financial Economics/Msc Finance and Economics programs. Looking at Warwick (expensive I know but closest I can get to a target per info from WSO, Reddit, etc.), Exeter, Kings, Nottingham.
A bit on my profile:
- Nationality: Indian
- CGPA: 7.87/10
- Undergrad: Bachelor of Commerce (accounting inclined) from an okay college(I don't even know where my college stands lol)
- Completed a certificate program in Data Science and AI.
- No volunteering/social work.
- 'Intra'- college extracurricular participation and some extracurricular awards from A-levels.
- Workex - 1.5 years in a Due Dilligence/AML/KYC role for a US bank with recognitions for work done.
- Left my role at the end of last May because of the highly fragmented nature of work compared to other organizations, which made it a dead end. Tried to move to analytics roles internally, but couldn't because the role was 4 levels above and policy allows only a 1 level jump. Did try to recruit for analytics roles outside but the market was bad and they preferred to recruit engineers that were laid off from bigger firms.
- Have been pursuing the Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF) program since then. Taught myself the math required.
The jist of my narrative is that I'm trying to make my profile as 'STEM-y' as possible, in case nobody inferred that from my choices.
Please do let me know your thoughts.
