Need a strategic advice.. If I'm confident of an option, should i still go through the other options?

Hello anindame;
Yes, it is essential that you go through ALL the options in CR questions.
I always recommend approaching questions with a mindset to eliminate wrong answers, rather than "looking for" the correct response.

Why?
Because while taking the test the time pressure coupled with the complexity of test content / structure will invariable make you miss a word or a trickily constructed sentence- this might result in your understanding of the option to become skewed. Looking for an answer that "sounds" good, therefore, can become quite dangerous. Instead, if you look for errors in answer choices your approach becomes so much more accurate. You'll be left with a couple of probable answer choices which you can then evaluate critically. It saves time, makes you more accurate.

Hope that helps :)
Regards,
Peo

Also if you could let me know what it takes to get a 40+ in verbal that would be awesome :)
At the moment my accuracy under timed conditions in various tests is as follows:

SC ~ 80%
CR ~ 75-85% (always missing minor details)
RC ~ 65-75%

My exam is on 14th March. Any way can push the score to 40+? Any specific areas I should concentrate on?

Thanks in advance!

Hello anindame;

Happy to be of help! :)

How do you get a 40+?
That's actually a very complex question.

Accuracy on a drill only tells you part of the story: remember that the GMAT is a computer adaptive test; accuracy ratings from a practice drill
doesn't really tell you much about how your score will pan out on the test.

What you need to do is take full length tests. Take the ENTIRE test - don't skip the AWA and the IR.
Once you've done the test; do a complete evaluation of your response.
Keep track of the questions you guess (even if you got them right)
Look for patterns - You might be weak in Subject verb agreement or with Bold Faced questions;
or you might be unable to finish the sections in time.

Once you've identified patters - go ahead and work towards resolving them.

That's the best advice I could give you right now! :)

To reiterate:
Full length tests ->maintain an error log -> look for patters -> improve!

Hope that helps!
and good luck on the GMAT :)

Cheers;
Peo
