Hi rishabhmishra,

Based on your prior posts, you've been studying for approximately 9 months, so the fact that this is your first practice CAT is part of the 'problem' that you're facing. Taking realistic FULL-LENGTH CATs at regular intervals MUST be a part of your study routine. Beyond that point, on the GMAT, any question that you do not answer is penalized (and the penalty is WORSE than if you had just answered the question incorrectly). Based on what you described, this means that you received a significant penalty on the Verbal section of this CAT - and you have to make sure to answer ALL of the questions each time you take a CAT from now on (and when you take the Official GMAT).

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on your goals:

1) What is your goal score?
2) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
4) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

answer to above questions.
1.my goal is at least 700.
2.I thought i will book my date in mid of feb but after that worst experience i didn't plan any dates.
3.I am soon going to have 1 year work experience and i am planning to have at least 3 years work experience. So i am not applying anywhere right now.
4.Basically i am planning for 30 to 100 top bschool of the world (US,CANADA, SINGAPUR AND AUSTRALIA)

Hi rishabhmishra,

By focusing on the GMAT now - and planning to apply to Business School in a couple of years - you've made a really smart choice. In that way, you can focus on your GMAT studies, without having to work on applications at the same time. However, based on this recent CAT score, you will likely need at least another 3 months of consistent, guided study to hit your score goal. Considering how far you are from that goal right now, you will likely have to make some BIG changes to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections - and you might want to consider investing in some new GMAT resources.

1) Going forward, how many hours do you think you can consistently study each week?
