Need Advice on MACC Programs

Hi,
I would like to get into accounting, preferably in the Big 4 or another large firm (big 8).
I live in the DC area and work in government contracting currently, but took about 5 years off work until last year. Before that, I worked for the federal government as an econ analyst, and some private industry (real estate).
I have an undergrad from the UC Davis in math and a Masters in econ from NYU. My undergrad GPA was a 3.8 and my grad GPA was about the same. I took GREs ten years ago and don't remember exactly, but I do know I got a 790 on the quantitative and above 750 on the verbal section. I would need to take the GMATs obviously, and will study for them, but have not taken an exam in years and will be working full-time, so probably won't do as well as on my GREs, although I am a pretty solid test taker.
I am 30 so I would like to get this done as quickly as possible as age is definitely going to work against me more and more.
Additionally, I only have one accounting class from undergrad (got an A, if that matters) but I have plenty of stats, econ, computer science, and math courses with almost straight As from my undergrad and grad.
What MaCC programs would you recommend in this area?
I was thinking University of Maryland, as it is a great program with great placement, but it is around 50k for the year, and I'd like to go somewhere cheaper if possible. I would have to work during it and take out loans.
Are there other schools you would recommend? I prefer schools in Maryland and DC, but am open to schools in NY possibly.
After I graduate, I would like to work in DC, or possibly NY.
Could you please provide advice on the best programs for me and let me know chances of getting into Smith at UMD as well as other programs?
I have been researching myself and am a little overwhelmed by all the conflicting information.
I appreciate any advice and additional general insight so much!
