Hi,
I'm an MBA aspirant, who want to do it from one of the top universities. This message is about asking your advice on what career profile should I chose, which will help me strengthen my MBA profile (or I should say help me getting admit).
As of yet I'm working in India with a top telecom MNC with 5 years of experience (first 2 years I was with a startup firm, hence 3) in s/w development.
Now I've two job offers, both in India, of which I'm confused on which one I should chose. One is from top investment management MNC and other from top technology consulting firm.
Investment management firm: I'll be working as Analyst (software development) wherein I'll be working independently on a complex website and managing bugs and writing small enhancements. Herein I'll be working individually and coordinating with different teams sitting abroad and in India. Salary package is good, but no long term onsite.
Technology consulting: I'll be working as Analyst programmer (senior s/w developer) on latest technology - BigData (Hadoop). Work will be typical programmer job. The salary is 23% less from what former is offering, but there might be onsite opportunities may be after 1 or 1.5 yrs and technology is latest i.e. lots of learning.
Now I'm much confused which path should I chose. I also want to start a boutique consultancy in BigData and also working on agro business plan (due to family pressure/support). I also want to keep open my MBA option.
The problem I see is with my uncertainty with what I want to do. Please help me know if MBA will be helpful if I want to start a boutique consultancy, if yes then which career will suit best.
